Following the Constitutional Court's decision that rejected Prime Minister Edi Rama's request to repeal the suspension measure of Belinda Balluku, Gazment Bardhi, chairman of the Democratic Party parliamentary group, has reacted on social media.
Bardhi emphasizes that “the alibis have already fallen” and that Rama’s pressure on the Constitutional Court and efforts to protect himself and Balluk have failed. He underlines that Rama now has nowhere to hide and SPAK’s request for Balluk’s arrest must be urgently reviewed by the Assembly.
Bardhi's reaction:
The alibis have already fallen!
Edi Rama exerted unprecedented pressure on the Constitutional Court and raised absurd alibis to protect himself and Belinda Balluku. Both failed! Edi Rama was overthrown in his claim to block justice. Anyone who obstructs justice will be overthrown in the same way.
Now, Edi Rama has nowhere to hide. SPAK's request for the arrest of Belinda Balluku awaits approval from the Assembly. I call on the Speaker of the Assembly to immediately announce an emergency meeting on Monday of the Mandates Council and to include in the plenary session on Thursday the request for granting authorization to lift the immunity of former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister Belinda Balluku.
The Assembly cannot bear the weight of responsibility for the unprecedented delay in reviewing the Prosecutor's Office's request and for obstructing justice.
The time for maneuvers is over!
