Albanian weightlifting is again stained by doping. Evangjeli Veli has tested positive in tests recently conducted by the International Testing Center. According to the analysis, the red and black weightlifter has used stanazolol in the European Championship.

The Albanian was declared European champion on May 29 at the European Championship held in Tirana, where she received 2 gold medals and one silver.

Pending the answer to the B test, Veli and the Albanian weightlifting federation have been suspended.

If doping is confirmed, the red and black weightlifter risks at least up to 8 years of suspension, because it is repetitive, as it was also found with doping in 2018.

In the past, Albania has suffered the consequences of doping many times, as there were not a few athletes who were users of prohibited substances.
