Communists, old and new, who have taken on the noble mission of burning cities and destroying property, have recently discovered the new political theory that violence is necessary to fight corruption.

Hey, good luck! Posi!

Since Edi Rama's government is corrupt, we must burn, destroy, and, if possible, loot everything in our path.

What connection does Edi Rama's corruption have with private property being burned, businesses being destroyed and looted, or the city being vandalized? Only the extraordinary logic of the communists can explain this.

By today's communists, I mean the interesting alliance of Berisha, Qorri, Shehaj and Llapaj, who have also been joined by some religious leaders and social media conspiracists. A truly impressive ideological alliance, where each thinks differently from the other, but all find understanding in fire, violence and looting.

However, the names don't matter. I'm interested in the thesis.

Corruption is a criminal offense. As such, responsibility for it is individual, proven by facts, and punished by an impartial court, through a due process of law.

Declaring an entire political group guilty, due to the corruption of certain individuals, is political speculation.

Of course, politics also thrives on speculation. In fact, some politicians wouldn't have a profession without it.

So far, nothing unusual.

But speculation has a small moral problem, as it is the antechamber of corruption. Because whoever replaces the truth with their own political interest, there is no principled obstacle to tomorrow replacing the law with their own economic interest.

However, when you add violence, fire, destruction, and looting to speculation, then you are no longer fighting corruption. You are proposing another method to profit from it.

So, that loot that you cannot take through power, you seek to take through violence.

And here the grand difference between the two philosophies of corruption emerges.

To be corrupt, the government needs the economy, business, investments, and money flow. It needs something to take the loot in percentage.

Our communists, on the contrary, do not have this concern. They do not need to create wealth. It is enough for them to destroy and plunder in nature what others have created.

One seeks to share in the wealth that is produced. The other seeks to eliminate wealth altogether.

One needs development to corrupt. The other needs poverty to rule.

The corruption of power requires money, that is, the rich. The corruption of communists requires the poor.

This does not make the corruption of power more honest. It only makes it more economically understandable. While the corruption of poverty is a more sophisticated achievement, it destroys the wealth of others and sells it to them as liberation from corruption.

In the end, citizens are left to choose between the two alternatives that Albanian politics seems to generously offer them: corruption with development, or corruption with poverty.

A truly democratic choice, if only it weren't so tragically ridiculous!

Because in this country the race is no longer between the left and the right. It's between the left and the far left. The latter, to prove that it is more left-wing than the former, has decided to declare war on private property, business, and the city.

And this is called a war against corruption!

In fact, corruption is not fought by destroying wealth, but by punishing those who misappropriate it. It is not fought by burning the city, but by enforcing the law. It is not fought by plundering the property of others, but by protecting the right to property.

Otherwise, it's not changing the system of corruption. It's just changing the way the loot is divided.

And, by the way, the communists tried this method once. They fought so hard against private property that in the end there was almost no property or privacy left. We still have that time behind us. In our minds and in our souls yes and yes, unfortunately.

The communists only ensured poverty for everyone.

Now their political successors and followers want to convince us that this method deserves a second chance.

How generous!

Ultimately, the corruption of wealth steals what you have. The corruption of poverty convinces you that you should have nothing.

And this last one is called social justice!
