Ilirjana Kuçana has responded to Taulant Balla, following the debate about her presence in the student protests, stating that support for students comes from her beliefs as a teacher and not from the messages of Sali Berisha.

In a reaction addressed to the head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Kuçana recalls the student protests of 2018, when, according to her, Balla was secretly meeting with Lulzim Basha.

"Taulant, I was at the 2018 protests, when you secretly met with Lulin. I am still here today and I will be there tomorrow, whenever the student cause needs support," Kuçana writes.

She denies that her participation in the recent protests was instigated by Sali Berisha, emphasizing that her stance is related to personal beliefs and support for student causes.

"It wasn't Saliu who brought me to the protests, but my conviction as a teacher and defender of student causes," she says.

Kuçana says she opposes political models that, according to her, hinder democracy, both in the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party. In her response, she shifts the debate from presence at the protest to freedom of thought and positions within political parties.

"But I have a question for you, Taulant: Do you dare to speak out against your party when you think it is not acting right? Do you dare to publicly express your opinion, even when it contradicts the party's position?" asks Kuçana.

In conclusion, she argues that democracy should not only be sought in society and in protests, but also within political organizations themselves.

"True democracy begins where one has the courage to think differently, to speak freely, and not blindly submit to any party," Kuçana concludes her reaction.
