Sali Berisha has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of using fear and violence to maintain power. In a statement to the media, Berisha claimed that police stations are exerting pressure on protesters without any legal reason, violating, according to him, the Constitution and the fundamental rights of citizens.

The leading democrat compared Rama to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and former Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, while warning that the protests will not stop.

Berisha stated that questioning citizens for participating in peaceful rallies is an attempt to intimidate protesters, but according to him, these methods will not succeed in stopping opposition to the government.

"Finally, I condemn with the greatest force the terror, the anti-constitutional violence that police stations, in violation of all laws, are exercising against citizens in cities and everywhere for their participation in peaceful protests," Berisha said.

He accused police structures of violating the law by taking statements from citizens, while emphasizing that using fear will not save the prime minister.

"Without any reason, without any motive, violating codes and the Constitution, they make statements and blindly believe that with the instruments of fear they will be able to save the Albanian Vučić," declared the leader of the DP.

In conclusion, Berisha harshened his language towards Rama, comparing him to political figures who have been removed from power after protests and political upheavals.

"Edi Rama, Vučić's servant, or as they have called him, the Albanian-speaking Pashiqi, will have his own fate or Ceausescu's. He must choose for himself. The protests will not stop," Berisha concluded.
