Liverpool "dive" Wolves into the cold zone and begin their escape to the top of the Premier League

Liverpool have secured an important 2-1 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Reds started brightly and created a golden opportunity inside 10 minutes, but Diogo Jota shot wide. However, Arne Slot's side found the net in the 23rd minute through Luis Díaz, who capitalised on a misplaced clearance from Toti Gomes to slot home with a header.

Díaz continued to be the main threat and won a penalty late in the first half when he was fouled by goalkeeper José Sá. Mohamed Salah made no mistake from the spot and doubled Liverpool's lead.

Liverpool thought they had scored their third through Salah, but the goal was ruled out for offside. The controversy continued when Liverpool won another penalty, but referee Hooper overturned it after a VAR review.
