A serious event has shocked Brazil, when a footballer, who was ready to play, passed away due to several health problems.

Gabriel Popo after passing away at the age of 26. He was set to play in a match for XV de Jau against Uniao Suzano, which was cancelled after the incident.

The midfielder suffered a health problem and was rushed to a hospital in Sao Paulo, where he later died.

His club paid tribute in a statement that read: "Gabriel Popo, forever in our hearts.

Nothing prepares us for a farewell like this. Popo left us too soon, but his joy, talent and passion for football will remain alive in each of us.

Popo, we will play, we will wear this jersey and we will come back stronger for you!"
