Poland's football team was escorted by 2 F-16 fighter jets on its way to Qatar where it will participate in the World Cup starting in two days.

The two warplanes stayed at the side of the plane where Robert Lewandowski and other teammates were traveling to the competition where they have been missing since 1986.

All this security measure comes after the incident two days ago where two Polish citizens lost their lives near the border with Ukraine as a result of a rocket that passed through their village.

Recently, Polish President Andrzej Duda himself stated that the unfortunate incident may have been caused by a malfunction of Ukraine's missile defense system.

Poland, which is the opponent of the Albanian national team in the European 2024 qualifiers, is in Group C of the World Cup. The team's debut will take place on November 22 against Mexico, while Saudi Arabia and Argentina are in the national group.
