Briken Calja has been ranked in the top spot in the splits style at the World Championship taking place in Manama, Bahrain.

The red-and-black weightlifter managed to lift 153 kg after failing in his first two attempts at 152 kg and only missed the chance to reach the medal zone in this style by one kg after the Colombian weightlifter, who had competed in Battery B of the up to 73 kg weight class, won a position on the podium.

At the age of 35 and perhaps in the last World Cup for adults, Calja showed very good form, although in fourth place.

It is worth noting that in this weight class, up to 73 kg, the Albanian weightlifter was also the oldest, the first place, Germany, Gutu Robert, is 24 years old, the second place Rashidov from Turkmenistan is the same age, and the third place, Colombian Moskuera, is 29 years old.
