The shocking testimony of the man who pulled Antonio out of the wrecked Ferrari:
Serious accident, Premier League striker will be out for 1 year

Michail Antonio has miraculously escaped. A person who approached the footballer's car, destroyed in a serious accident, greeted him with a gesture to see if he was still alive. The Ferrari, in which the West Ham striker was traveling last Saturday, was almost destroyed: the front was badly damaged, the rear window was broken and distorted, while the right side was cracked by the impact.

Testimony of the person who found Antonio in the car

"I couldn't believe my eyes. I said, 'Hello...' to see if the driver was still alive. But he didn't answer right away," said Samuel Woods, the man who, while walking his dog in Epping Forest (Essex), came across the wrecked car that had left the road.

“There was a strong smell of gasoline,” he continued. He heard no sound or any sign of human pain, and he thought the worst. When he saw Antonio shifted from the driver’s seat to the passenger seat, he thought to himself, “He’s in big trouble.” Antonio had been trapped between the metal sheets for about 45 minutes, until firefighters managed to extricate him from the car and paramedics administered first aid during the emergency transport to the hospital.

In shock: “Where am I?”

The injuries suffered by the striker were serious: he underwent surgery for leg fractures he sustained in the accident. The club confirmed that his life is not in danger, but he remains under close observation, as his condition remains complicated.

"I heard the sirens and told him help was coming, but Antonio was so dazed and in shock that he didn't even understand what had happened to him. He kept asking, 'Where am I? What's happening? What car am I in?'" Woods said.

Antonio seemed completely disoriented. “I found him on the passenger side. I tried to tell him about the accident, but he kept looking around, trying to figure out what had happened.”

The player was transported by helicopter to the hospital, where he escaped life-threatening injuries, but his body suffered extensive injuries.

According to "The Guardian", the Premier League footballer will undergo surgery for a broken leg and as a result will be out of football for at least a year.

It is also reported that the 34-year-old may retire from playing football, but a decision on this will be made in the coming months.

But what matters now is that he is alive.
