Washington POST: Will NATO intervene if a cyberattack "kills" the Sun?
The Sun in the Assembly

The American media outlet Washington Post has published an editorial regarding the new minister in Rama 4's cabinet, Diella.

" Make way Doge! President Donald Trump sensationally created the White House agency that uses technology to improve government. Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has outdone Trump, appointing an artificial intelligence robot to his cabinet ," the editorial begins.

“Of course, Diella’s appointment as a “minister” is a stunt. Albania’s constitution requires that cabinet members be human beings; the Albanian government has struggled with technology in the past. In 2022, government services were paralyzed for weeks by a massive Iranian cyberattack that Rama compared to a bombing campaign. Would that prompt NATO to invoke the mutual defense provision if a cyberattack “killed” a minister in Rama’s government?” asks the Washington Post.

Although Diella cannot actually be a minister, the effort to incorporate artificial intelligence is seen in the article as a spur to innovation in governance.

While the US lags in adopting AI and China is moving ahead at a rapid pace, the article praises Albania for its courage to experiment with something new.

" It's early days in the AI era. But in a world of government bureaucracy that pays no attention to risk, Albania deserves praise for trying something new ," the Washington Post concludes./ VoxNews
