Elis Halili is the new mayor of Vlora, who was sworn in at today's meeting of the Municipal Council, where there were no shortage of opposition accusations of an illegal process.
But despite the fact that the process went through a vote with the cards of socialist councilors, the new name that will lead the municipality of Vlora seems to have been chosen even before Dredha's own resignation.
Halili, the engineer of the Fusha company, was the last appointment that Dredha made before announcing his departure from the management of the Municipality. As if this were not enough, Halili's officialization before receiving the council's vote was also made in the letter of introduction that was placed on his desk, with the title of mayor.
Before the Socialists unanimously voted on Halil's name, democrat Atird Hoxha opposed the process, demanding a secret ballot for the mayor.
Meanwhile, socialist councilor Ervis Moçka declared at the Municipal Council meeting that " whether the Democrats like it or not, Elis Halili will be elected by a majority of votes ." " Whether you like it or not, we will elect him by a majority of votes ."
Klodian Xhyheri from the Opportunity Party stated that in this case, the Constitution has been violated .
