Begaj and Spiropali leave for the USA today, will participate in the proceedings

President Bajram Begaj and Foreign Minister Elisa Spiroali will participate in the High-Level Week of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, which will take place in New York on September 22 - 27, 2025.

During this week, the Head of State will deliver his speech at the General Debate of the General Assembly, where he will present Albania's positions on key issues, including international peace and security, multilateralism, sustainable development and human rights. President Begaj's agenda also includes participation in several important multilateral activities.

The Head of State will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts and senior UN representatives. Part of President Begaj's agenda will also include meetings with representatives of the Albanian Diaspora in the United States of America and several visits to schools where children of the Diaspora learn their native language.

Meanwhile, Minister Spiropali will be present at the opening of the general debate at the UN Assembly with the message "Better Together: 80 Years and More for Peace, Development and Human Rights". At the invitation of the President of the UN General Assembly, Ms. Annalena Baerbock, Spiropali will participate in the annual meeting of the UN Assembly Platform for Women Leaders.

Spiropali will represent Albania in several important multilateral and bilateral meetings, where the issues of international security, sustainable development and human rights are at the center of discussions. Building on its active role in UN bodies, Albania will continue to advocate for inclusive multilateral diplomacy, as the only path towards sustainable solutions to global challenges.
