Request to participate in the meeting, the Municipal Council responds to Veliaj:

The Tirana Municipal Council has responded to the Mayor, Erion Veliaj, regarding his request to be present and to provide his objections before the vote regarding his dismissal.

In the letter signed by the Secretary of the Tirana Municipal Council, Veliaj is informed that, in the event of his inability to be physically present, he can submit his positions in writing, so that they can be administered and made public.

Meanwhile, sources from the General Directorate of Prisons indicate that no request for special permission has been administered.

For detainees, prior consent is given by the prosecutor of the case.

Dear Chairman,

"Following your request to be recognized, heard, defended and to provide clarifications at the Tirana Municipal Council meeting, we inform you that the meeting will take place on Tuesday, 23.09.2025, at 16:00.

"In case you will not be physically present at the meeting, please submit your observations in writing to the Municipal Council, so that they can be administered and made known during the meeting," the letter signed by the secretary of the Tirana Municipal Council, Behar Zeneli, states.
