Socialist Party leader Edi Rama's call for the submission of a draft for a new agreement for Albania was responded to by MP Elisa Spiropali by submitting a motion to the SP Assembly. In a statement to journalists, she said that the document is open and seeks to address the demands and problems of Albanians through the energy of the SP.
"I just submitted to the National Assembly of the Socialist Party the motion to open the debate on the new agreement for Albania. For my part, the promise was kept and I responded to the chairman's call. It is not just my document, it is open to all members of the SP. I have addressed it to the SP chairman, members, the prime minister and the Assembly. It will be open because any agreement for Albania cannot be drafted by 1 or 10 individuals but must express the will of the Albanian majority that at this moment demands more representation, democracy, social justice, a fairer relationship between the state and the citizen, an economic model that responds to the needs and the young people who are at the forefront of the demands for change, are the ones who expect the most from us and I have every confidence that this governing majority and the SP have all the possibilities to respond to this request", said Spiropali.
The socialist MP said that the motion in no way represents faction or division.
"This is not a request for faction or division, it is a request for the unification of all progressive energies of the Socialist Party. We must respond to citizens not with arrogance, but with humility by listening and channeling their demands through institutional channels," she said.
The motion also addresses the issues of people who have problems with justice, Spiropali admitted to Report TV, without delving further into her response.
"Yes, justice is also addressed. It is one of the main issues. It has been one of our prides and it should continue to be," she said, adding that everything will become clear when the motion is published.
