Flamur Noka's challenger for number two in the DP: Today I decided that I would run, no one forced me

Democratic Party MP Saimir Korreshi has confirmed his candidacy for the position of Secretary General of the Democratic Party, facing off against Flamur Noka.

Korreshi's candidacy was made public in the last minutes, before the meeting of the DP National Council. Asked by reporters whether he had had time to campaign among the members of the Council, Korreshi said that he does not consider such a process necessary, since both candidates are well-known figures for the Democrats.

"It is today's decision," said Korreshi.

Asked if the decision was his, the Democratic MP replied: "No one forces me. They know us. Lobbying is what we represent to each other. Everyone knows it. If the time has come for it to change, it will change."

Korreshi did not comment on the steps he would take if elected to the position of number two of the DP, stating: "Let the voting end once and for all."

The vote at the National Council will determine whether Flamur Noka will continue to hold the position of Secretary General or whether Korreshi will bring about a change in the direction of the party's organizational structure.
