The new parliamentary session starts this afternoon at 17:00, when the first plenary session for this new year will be held. Deputies return to the works of the Assembly of Albania with a new regulation with an exception of up to 60 days, but despite this the group of Gazment Bardhi and the deputies of Berisha will continue with the strategy of efforts to block the sessions. Former Prime Minister Berisha will not participate because he is under house arrest for the 'Partizani' affair.
The session will be opened by Speaker Lindita Nikolla, where the first item on the agenda is the approval of the president's decrees on the changes in the government cabinet, with the dismissal of Elva Margariti as Minister of Culture and Ervin Mete as Minister of Finance and Economy and the appointment of the latter as Minister of Finance and Blendi Gonxhja as Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation.
Lawmakers left behind a session amid chaos, firebrands and several legal initiatives awaiting 84 votes. Criminal amnesty, the salary increase for the "Constitutionalist" and the election of a new ombudsman, but also the Electoral Reform, are hostage to the union of cards. The SP has extended its hand to the opposition to unite the votes for the criminal amnesty.
From the two-day meeting of the government in Shengjin, Prime Minister Edi Rama openly said that the lack of 84 votes is not a condition for reforms and that the socialists will find an alternative to the laws with qualified majority.
As for the scenario of chaos, the head of the government made it clear a few days ago that even in this new parliamentary session they will respond to the opposition's smokers with green cards, i.e. by approving the laws without holding debates, while the discussions will take place in commissions in online meetings, how long according to him, on the other hand, they will throw themselves into flames and physical fights will be attempted.
It is expected that with the departure of Berisha from the chair of the assembly, Lulzim Basha will return to his seat as there are 3 bills filed, and his role is expected to be revealed in this new parliamentary session.
In 3 months of action in the parliament, 29 opposition MPs were expelled. The most punished of them is Gazment Bardhi, while he is followed by Flamur Noka, who also risks a 60-day suspension due to the last session of last year.
