'The departure of Albanians from the United Kingdom must be accelerated.'- this was the statement of the British Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, which prompted a response from the Prime Minister of the country, Edi Rama.
In a post on Twitter, the head of government said that targeting Albanians (as some shamefully did when they fought for Brexit) ignores hard facts.
After all the foreign media echoed the prime minister's rhetoric, recently Rama also spoke to the prestigious BBC.
Rama said that the term 'Invasion' used by Braveman is crazy and that it was impossible not to react.
According to the head of government, Braveman incites nothing but xenophobic behavior and that he is disgusted by this type of politics in Great Britain.
Rama said Braverman's "invasion" comment was "crazy" and he found it "impossible not to react".
"It's not about one person. It's about the climate that's been created and it's about finding scapegoats and blaming others. It's not about Albanians, nor aliens or gangsters, but it's about the policies of failed on borders and crime. This kind of language is not a policy, it is not a programme, it is not a vision. [It] is nothing more than inciting xenophobia and targeting, singling out a community. I admire everything that Britain stands for. But I'm really disgusted by this kind of politics that is ultimately doomed to fail," said Rama.
