Prime Minister Edi Rama delivered a speech at the 3-day conference of Albanian ambassadors around the world entitled "Albania 2030: in Europe, connected to the world", which began today.
During his speech, Rama said that all of Albania's diplomatic corps, wherever they are in the world, must focus on a single historical objective: Albania's integration into the EU.
Meanwhile, Rama asked the ambassadors to fully register Albanian communities around the world, and even criticized them for not yet having such a registry.
According to him, it is unacceptable that a small country like ours does not have a constantly updated register of Albanians who excel in their professions in different countries of the world.
"The participation of Albanians abroad in elections not only strengthens their role in terms of decision-making power in the country, but also strengthens the level of our obligation to serve them and organize with them. Here too, there are some special achievements, successes or, more precisely, positive ones, but overall we are far behind. We are a small country and a small people that do not have the luxury of not even knowing about our human resources abroad, about the educated Albanians, extraordinary professionals, that we have in all countries of the world. And at least the knowledge about them, about their existence, must be guaranteed to us by the diplomatic service. With this knowledge, much else can be built. But for us not to have a database that is enriched day by day with Albanian professionals in territories all over the world, and when many Albanians excel and succeed and have no material needs towards Albania but would welcome an invitation from Albania to contribute, while the world has become so interconnected, when there is no longer any need for it "Moved, from where you are to make a contribution, it is unacceptable that we have so much ignorance about the extraordinary capital we have abroad, " said Rama.
