The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has once again called on the FBI and the United States Department of Justice to continue investigations into the "McGonigal" dossier and the involvement of Prime Minister Edi Rama in it.
Berisha has stated that the DP is ready to contribute with witnesses, evidence and facts to verify the criminal activity related to this file.
"Appreciating, welcoming the inspector general's report, I invite the FBI, the Department of Justice, to continue the investigation into this horrific criminal organization ," he said.
"The DP is ready to make its contribution with witnesses, evidence and facts so that their criminal activity in Albania receives comprehensive condemnation, comprehensive recognition and comprehensive punishment," said the leading democrat.
Berisha said that Rama met Charles McGonigal three times and carried out several criminal activities with him in the fight against the opposition.
According to him, Rama is using the force of the most powerful investigative institution in the world against political pluralism in Albania.
"The Inspector General establishes that McGonigal met in Albania twice and in New York twice with Rama, for whom the friendship with McGonigal was a source of pride, in English terms, a friend. He carried out a joint criminal activity with Rama in payments for the fight against the Albanian opposition, in interventions to change oil licenses for staggering sums, in engaging American institutions for private investigations on behalf of Rama and Doshi in Vienna."
"By using the FBI against the opposition, you have committed a serious anti-constitutional crime. You have used the force of the most powerful investigative institution in the world against political pluralism in Albania. McGonigal is no more guilty than Ramaduro who is fanatically defended by Altin Troplini ," Berisha added.
