Prime Minister Edi Rama has defended the investment inside the Prime Minister's Office building, which cost a full 3.6 million euros.
In an interview with journalist Blendi Fevziu, Rama justified the luxury at his workplace by saying that it is a dignified environment where foreign dignitaries are welcomed.
Rama said that even the president of the United Arab Emirates asked how this instillation was done.
Excerpt from the interview:
Fevziu: You are in an exotic environment here, with wood, vegetation...
Rama: It cost many, many times less than it is worth. And above all, here is the door that opens for friends who visit us. The opportunity to receive them in conditions that show dignity and what vision we have for this country is a great added value. This environment will be made available to employees of the Prime Minister's Office and the public in the event of events. These are negligible expenses for what they bring or represent. Welcoming the president of the United Arab Emirates here, when we know very well what they do with architecture, you feel good when they are interested in the way it was built, a structure that also reflects the symbolism of the time, the effort to have as much nature as possible... is something that makes you feel good.
