The political leader of the Socialist Party for administrative unit no. 6 in the capital, Blendi Gonxhja, in a statement to the media, announced the victory of the majority in the Kombinat area.
He stated that the Socialists in the Combine have managed to break the 2021 vote record, receiving 54.5%, despite the drop in turnout in Sunday's elections.
"It is a beautiful day for us socialists of the Kombinat. Because it is reconfirmed as the municipal unit with the best result within the urban units that have the highest population density with a difference of 6% with the average of these units and a difference of 7% with the average of the region."
We are announcing the victory of the SP in the Kombinat, which is not one of the easiest areas in the capital, because there were problems and troubles related to Reconstruction. We have had a decrease in the number of voters because from the Kombinat, from unit 6, they go to unit 14, several thousand voters with passports there, since that unit was created from unit 6. And we had over 4 thousand voters who, according to our censuses, are mostly socialist, who are in the other units. From the point of view of participation, we knew that we would have a decrease.
The decline in participation in our case has translated into a boycott by the opposition. We are even better than in 2021. We are at 54.5% when we were 53.5% as SP in 2021. We are growing very significantly compared to other municipal units. We have high registration from unit 6 for the Diaspora and we are waiting for the result now. We have registered almost over 5 thousand compatriots at the national level, almost 2 thousand at the regional level and over 1500 at the unit level. All of this together makes us very proud", said Gonxha.
