The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted after the publication of the results of the May 11 elections, which so far are in favor of the Socialist Party.
In a statement to journalists, Berisha described these elections as the most manipulated in the history of Albanian pluralism, accusing them of massive involvement of criminal gangs and vote buying.
According to him, criminal groups have had direct influence in several districts, including Durrës, Elbasan, Fier and Mallakastra, where they have supported specific candidates for deputies.
He added that the elections were characterized by "the most massive public vote buying" in the country's history, citing the distribution of 100-euro envelopes.
Sali Berisha: Elections are more robbed, more violated in pluralistic Albania. Never before have gangs brought so many of their representatives to parliament as in this Assembly. In the Durrës district, gangs worked for specific deputies, one Dyrmishi, another this one and another that one. No less in Elbasan, Fier, Mallakastër. The elections were ruled by murderers, serial killers, traffickers, rapists, rapists. The May 11 elections were characterized by the most massive public buying in the entire history of elections in Albania. Envelopes with 100 euros were given out.
