The police did not give permission for the protest, DP reacts: We do not get permission from anyone in Albania to protest
The State Police gave a negative answer to the Democratic Party regarding its request to organize its protest on December 6 in Tirana, the day on which the summit of EU leaders with the Western Balkans will be held.
In the official announcement, the State Police informs that due to the summit and the security rules that must be applied to it, where many roads will be blocked, it cannot grant permission for such an organization, as requested and the opposition.
In a letter that the head of the police of Tirana, Lorenc Panganika addressed to the DP, it is stated that it "infringes security" due to the holding of the EU summit.
But the General Secretary of the DP, Flamur Noka, told "Klan News" that the protest is a right won since December '90. According to him, no one can stop the right to protest.
"Protest is a democratic right acquired since December 1990. No one can stop the right to protest. We do not get permission from anyone in Albania to protest. Based on the law, we announce that the protest will take place whether the regime wants it or not", said Noka.
