The US Embassy has reacted, regarding the clashes in the DP for the head of the DP parliamentary group, stating that they believe that functional democratic institutions, including an opposition, are vital for any healthy democracy.
The Embassy further states that it is not its role to choose who leads the political parties in Albania, but adds that they have not changed their position regarding individuals declared non-grata in Albania, while emphasizing that they encourage all actors to consider carefully their engagements with such figures.
