Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha says he "regrets" the historic leader of the DP, Sali Berisha, who he says is today "at one of his lowest points".
In an online podcast, Basha said Berisha should have listened to his advice, not to make his personal problem part of the party.
"They were wrongly advised. If he had listened to the advice I gave him, it would have been better for him, for his family, and for Albania. "He was not a part of the party," said The Strut.
He implied that Berisha has closed the cycle in politics, and according to him, Albania must move forward.
"He's had a long life, he's had his high points, he's already got ones from the lowest. I'm sorry, but the country has to move on. "This is not the problem of this country, the problem you mentioned earlier," Basha said.
