The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, said that today is a historic day not only for Tirana for the EU's relationship with the Western Balkans.
"Good morning everyone. It will be an important meeting. It is the first time we hold a summit in the Balkans. The future of our children will be safer and more prosperous together with the Western Balkans. Today, for example, we will sign an agreement on Roaming fees. Another is the support we want to give to the Balkan countries for the energy crisis. So, it is an important moment and it is exciting that here in the region we have this meeting between the countries of the Union and those of the Western Balkans. This is an important stage for the region's approach to the EU," he said.
