Emigrant agreement, Rama on "Cinque Minuti": We will have an answer in June

Prime Minister Edi Rama recently conducted an interview with Italian journalist Bruno Vespa on “Cinque Minuti”. Rama was asked about the bilateral meeting held in Rome between the Albanian and Italian governments. He emphasized that agreements on the defense industry were signed during the meeting.

The Prime Minister was also asked about the immigration plan, as he emphasized that by June there will be a response at the European level to unblock this process at the European level.

Rama was also asked about Minister Diella, stressing that she is a product of artificial intelligence and a member of the government. According to him, in the coming months she will participate in government meetings.

Bruno Vespa: Good evening Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania, socialist, re-elected this spring for a fourth term. Then, Giorgia Meloni said yesterday that the Italy-Albania plan for immigration will continue, despite efforts to block it. Do you confirm this?

Rama: She is a leader who does not give up and, it seems, awaits the result of this joint effort at the European level. I think that by June there will be a response at the European level to unblock this process at the European level and to give states discretion on countries of origin and safe countries.

Bruno Vespa: There is a lot of interest from Europe for this formula, among other things.

Rama: Several countries have explored the possibility of working with us and replicating this model, but we have refused as it is an exclusivity of the very special relationship with Italy.

Bruno Vespa: Regarding this, it is the first time that in a bilateral meeting, yesterday, all the ministers of the host country spoke in Italian.

Rama: I don't believe there could be another government, other than ours, that would speak 100% Italian like the Italian government. And this certainly reflects many things, but first and foremost, it reflects the fact that in one way or another, Albanians also feel Italian.

Bruno Vespa: So, you signed a large number of agreements yesterday, military, health, in short, many agreements. What are the most important ones?

Rama: I believe that those related to the defense industry are important. Those related to energy and, above all, the work on the new joint project between Albania and Italy to build this interconnection line between East and West that includes Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania and Italy, is very important.

Furthermore, other projects related to security, the fight against trafficking, organized crime, as well as the environment or, as you rightly said, healthcare, are also important.

Bruno Vespa: So, what would happen if Ukraine lost the war with Russia?

Rama: I believe that before answering this question we should seek to answer another question that, in my opinion, is very worrying. 'When will Europe have a peace plan and when will the entire political and European community be able to put forward an idea on how to end this conflict without taking away anything from the support for Ukraine?'

But if we do not want an inertia that would transform Europe into an insignificant factor and that would put it before a fait accompli that perhaps we will not like, we must try to answer this question: 'How can Europe advance an idea of ??peace?'

Bruno Vespa: So, you will enter Europe by 2030. But what makes me curious is that part of your government is a minister, a virtual minister, Diella, the fruit of artificial intelligence. You created her to fight corruption.

Rama: Yes, especially for this. Diella, as you said, is a product of artificial intelligence. He is a member of the government. In the coming months he will participate in government meetings. Later, perhaps at the end of spring, we can also bring him to 'Porta a Porta' to do an interview with you.

Rama: And its task is to try to make much faster, much more transparent and much less vulnerable to human subjectivity, let's say, the processes of services for citizens and, above all, public procurement.
