Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, at a joint conference with Prime Minister Edi Rama, said that another meeting has been scheduled to begin work on creating a forum where companies in the production system will be represented.
Meloni said that the meeting between the two governments is an "extraordinary" relationship between the two countries. During the meeting, 16 joint agreements were signed, although their content has not yet been made public.
"It is the first time that our governments meet in a format of this kind. It is clear that we know that the relations between Italy and Albania have very deep roots. They have always been like this, constants that go beyond mutual interests. We were moved by the passage of our plenary assembly with 20 ministers all speaking in Italian without the need for translation.
What we want to do is to turn this extraordinary relationship into a treasure to strengthen it even more. Italy is Albania's first trade partnership. Our goal is to give it more depth, to put our relations on a deeper level. With Prime Minister Rama, we have left another meeting, that of the crime of a forum where companies representing productive systems will be represented within the first 6 months from today. We have defined the directions, investments in sectors such as energy, transport, focusing on the 8th corridor.
"That road that comes from Puglia, passing through Albania and continuing on to Macedonia and Bulgaria. This means ensuring more prosperity and development not only for Italians but throughout Europe," said Meloni.
