Bedri Hamza has resigned from the leadership of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), the largest opposition party in the country. The decision was made public by Hamza himself during a press conference.
He announced that he had submitted his irrevocable resignation earlier in the day, at a meeting of the party's Presidency.
Hamza remained at the head of the PDK for about a year, after being elected to this position on November 17 of last year, at the party's electoral convention.
At the moment of taking office, he declared that he accepted the leadership of the party with honor and full commitment, promising its openness to citizens and greater involvement of young people in decision-making.
During his leadership, PDK's electoral lists were characterized by the inclusion of new names as candidates for MPs.
Hamza took over the leadership of the party after Memli Krasniqi resigned from the position of leader. There is still no further information on the process that will be followed to elect the new leader of the PDK.
