Prime Minister Edi Rama, with the opening of the electoral campaign, has begun meetings with the diaspora from Milan, where he received a special gift.

Shortly before taking the floor, Rama received as a gift a Juventus team jersey with the number 5 from the famous former footballer Alessio Tacchinardi, a number that coincides with the number that the Socialist Party has on the ballot for the May 11 elections.

"Good luck," former Italian national team and Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi told the prime minister, while the latter thanked him.

Meanwhile, during his speech, Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized that the May 11 elections "are like a crossroads between a vote, a political vote for the party that will govern for 4 years, and a historic vote for Albania that in 4 years we can make a member of the united European family."  

"You have chosen to come here for this extraordinary hospitality. I am grateful to everyone. The first time in our history of elections that you and all Albanians abroad will have the opportunity to vote without having to come to Albania. Instead of you coming to Albania, we are the ones who come to you. I am glad that we made this a reality as we pledged. Now every Albanian who wants to express his vote for the direction of the country, has the opportunity to do so without moving. It was said that in the first elections where Albanians participate, our fate would bring us to an election as a final confrontation with our history. Giving us the chance to change the course of history forever with one vote. With just one vote, to make history, one vote to change the direction of history to mark ourselves in history.

"These elections are like a crossroads between a vote, a political vote for the party that will govern for 4 years and a historic vote for Albania that in 4 years we can make it a member of the united European family. For the first time, we have Albania's own European destiny in our hands because for the first time, it is not just us who want to enter from the first day of freedom, but it is the European countries that want to let us in. This is the last climb. Of Albania towards Europe and the end of our history outside Europe," said Rama.
