Within the last 24 hours, a series of appointments and dismissals have taken place in the Municipality of Tirana. It all started with a decision dated March 18, signed by the Durrës detention center by the Mayor Erion Veliaj, which removes the powers of the Deputy Mayor Anuela Ristani and appoints Sara Goxhaj as the acting Mayor of Tirana. But this decision has been opposed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who has requested the reinstatement of Ristani.
News immediately spread in media circles that there was a rift between Veliaj and Ramma.
But Veliaj himself preferred to quell the noise.
In a reaction from Durrës detention center, Veliaj says that the entire misunderstanding occurred because he is "working" without sufficient information, given that he is isolated, while emphasizing that "I only long to meet with Rama to talk about work as always and nothing else comes to mind."
Erion Veliaj's reaction:
I was informed that there was a lot of noise in the media swamp about my clash with Rama, over delegation work.
First of all, I just long to meet with Rama to talk about business as usual and nothing else comes to mind.
Second, I signed a redelegation with the mistaken idea that it was agreed upon within the management team, but that's what happens when you "work" without sufficient information.
Lastly, search and dig wherever you want now, because this has become a sport thanks to my beloved prosecutor, but in my relationship with Rama, you are completely wasting your time, because it is molded in the old days and no time, no matter how cursed, can change it. The delegation has returned to where it was and this is where the misunderstanding ends.
