After three days of replies and counter-replies, but also insults between the Socialist MP Erion Braçe and the Directorate of Taxes, the latter has today turned back and apologized to the Socialist MP.

What happened?

Socialist MP Erion Braçe denounced a few days ago the increase in the prices of fruits and vegetables in the large majority market in Tirana and their sale without a tax invoice. After that, the law enforcement agencies went to the big market of Tirana and according to Braça, some of the merchants who were notified by them, closed their doors, while others were caught illegally.

According to him, the latter were told: "We have nothing to do, Bracja gave the order, you have it from him!".

Under these conditions, the socialist MP reacted again on Facebook, accusing them and calling them "useless idiots of the state".

He emphasizes that the goal is not fines, but transparency and tax bills.

"The goal is the tax bill, in purchase from the farmer, in sale from the merchant, wholesale and retail. Invoice and Coupon in every purchase and sale, with transparent, non-false prices, until December 31 is an emergency, you have a legal obligation!".

After this statement, there was also a reaction from the Tax Administration, which calls the statements of deputy Braçe incorrect. According to her, the monitoring and verification of markets where Big Businesses operate is a standard procedure that is followed every year.

"We are sorry to hear from a Member of Parliament insults and disrespect towards the Tax Administration, defaming its work, even worse with false information, judgments of a Member of Parliament that not only do not improve the work of an Administration, but on the contrary insult it publicly that with or without right".

But a day after this reaction, the General Directorate of Taxes changed its position, apologizing to the deputy and calling its reaction hasty and not at all institutional.

"On behalf of the General Directorate of Taxes and on my own behalf, we apologize publicly to MP Erjon Braçe for the hasty and not at all institutional reaction to his public criticism. The MP's concerns deserve the attention of our institution and it is not our duty to respond to anyone who freely expresses his opinion. This breach of institutional ethics will not be repeated. I hope for everyone's understanding regarding the above. Ceno Klosi", writes the Directorate of Taxes on Facebook.
