Rama warns of Athens' rejection of Albania's integration

Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a press conference with journalists, gave an official answer to Athens regarding the obstacle to negotiations with the EU due to the "Beleri" issue.

Rama emphasized that Athens' position is unreasonable and bilateral issues should be resolved between the two countries and not affect Albania's European integration path.

"In an integration process where a country enters negotiations, where it enters a final European stage benefiting daily from the transfer of knowledge of the European Union to be hindered, to be delayed, they have a bilateral issue. This obstacle is somehow unreasonable, and non-European in spirit. The stories were not one and two, but more than one and two. It is not a coincidence and all these cases come from the Balkan area. The actual difference between us and Greece, I have not extended, but I have emphasized that this it's an issue between us that we have to deal with between us, it's an issue that as far as we're concerned we don't even see it as related to the negotiation process. Greece is a neighboring country that we want to deepen cooperation and neighborly relations and strengthen friendship , doing everything that belongs to us. We want to be a European country in the Balkans", said Rama.
