After the reaction on social media, where Florjan Binaj indicated that he would run for Mayor of Tirana, critics began sharing photos of him with Edi Rama and Erion Veliaj taken years ago at two different activities.
He explained both photos, even going into some spicy details.
Invited to "Top Story" at TC, Binaj revealed that he had not met or spoken to Prime Minister Edi Rama for 10 years, while he said that Veliaj had "stolen" his photo.
"Photo with Rama? We met in 2013. At that time, a large part of them said that Edi Rama was the only solution to save Albania from the situation. The last meeting was in 2015 at the Digitalb party. Since then, I have neither met nor spoken to him. I was disappointed like everyone else with what happened," he initially said.
Asked later about the photo of Veliaj, Binaj said:
"With Veliaj, there are photos from 2014 or 2015. I don't remember it well. It was a very beautiful case to tell. I got a call from a home for the elderly. We were cooking together with some women and I didn't know it was Veliaj's event. Suddenly, a person I saw who was Veliaj ran in and came up to me and said: "Shoot, shoot". I wasn't going to stop the elderly who were eating and argue with him", Binaj concluded.
