Florjan Binaj, the independent candidate for Tirana, supported by the opposition, reacted this Thursday after the Constitutional Court's decision to suspend President Bajram Begaj's decree for the November 9 elections.

In a reaction on social media, Binaj writes that whenever the date for the elections in the Municipality of Tirana is set, they will participate.

Binaj also emphasizes that the most important party is the citizens' party.

"The upcoming elections in Tirana are just the first step on the long road we are embarking on. Whenever the vote is scheduled, we will participate with our vision and will for change."

The Constitutional Court this Thursday suspended President Bajram Begaj's decree for the by-elections in Tirana on November 9.

The Constitutional Court decided to refer the case of petitioner Erion Veliaj to a public plenary session on October 31 and suspended the President's decree for the part that sets the date of the elections in the Municipality of Tirana.

Erion and Veliaj's lawyers filed 2 appeals with the Constitutional Court, the first to overturn the Government's decision to dismiss Veliaj, and a second appeal after President Begaj decreed November 9 for by-elections for Tirana as well.
