Following the Constitutional Court's decision that suspended the President's decree on holding elections in the Municipality of Tirana, the first official reaction has come from the government.

Minister of State for Parliament, Toni Gogu, in an interview with Top Story, emphasized that the Socialist Party remains committed to respecting the law and continuing to work with citizens.

"It was a decision made by the bodies that conduct elections. The SP is a competitor in the elections and does not organize elections. The president's decree, the president sets the date and the Court reviews it later. As a representative of the SP, the first thing is that we respect the law, which we have done since the beginning, we do not comment on the decision of the courts, especially that of the Constitutional Court.

This will have a fundamental decision that the Constitutional Court will review later. The SP headquarters does not change anything. We are in constant communication with the citizens of Tirana. Of course, there will be an election day, but this does not prevent the SP from starting an intensive discussion with the citizens of Tirana. How will we continue to provide public services, public spaces, and modernity to the lives of citizens.

"We as the SP are prepared, on the one hand, to respect the law and on the other hand, to respond to citizens 24/24. For our electoral headquarters, nothing changes, to continue to ensure that our Tirana has the pulse of life," said Toni Gogu.
