The State Commissioner of Elections , Ilirjan Celibashi, has made the next appeal for enabling Albanian immigrants to vote in the 2025 elections .

"I do not believe that in the general elections of 2025, all 1 million Albanians residing abroad and potentially with the right to vote will choose to exercise this right, but the fact that we start voting from abroad with any number is very important Albanians who do not live in Albania", he has recently emphasized in his appeal.

He also said that the only condition to make this possible is for the Assembly to approve the regulatory framework within this parliamentary session, before the summer months.

This, according to him, guarantees the time to cast the vote of every Albanian living abroad.

But again, what is missing has to do with the will of the parties, all of which can be clearly seen in a recent event, which happened during the April 2 parliamentary session.

Some citizens have unfurled a banner in the Assembly hall this Thursday, in which the vote of immigrants is requested in the elections of 2025.

Their request expressed in the banner was made in one of the lodges of the hall, while the next parliamentary session continues in the hall.

"I want to vote 2025", was their call.

The incident attracted the attention of television cameras, but failed to catch the eyes (willingly or unwillingly) of those who make this possible - the deputies.

The fabricated organization was even escorted out of the front lobby of the Parliament by the Guard of the Republic, ending the matter there.

Even the question of the diaspora vote seems to be closed and hermetically sealed, since Celibashi's continuous appeals over the months have completely fallen on deaf ears.

The Commission for Electoral Reform not only did not produce anything, but it does not even have a clear projection to have inherent developments in the near future.

The fragmentation of the opposition and the reunification of a part of it within a parliamentary grouping also makes dialogue difficult.

Beyond that, the left itself, which holds the majority in the Assembly, has no problem if the elections are held in the same spirit as the current one in 2025, or different. The status quo is fine for them, writes albanianpost .

While, the right of the majority, i.e. the Bardhi-Berisha grouping, has the biggest reason for the return of coalitions in the elections (the reason here is also their eventual inability to have the logo and stamp of the DP on their side until the year next), than the actual vote of immigrants.

Therefore, Celibashi's constant appeals simply remain appeals and nothing more. Actions on the near or far horizon are not visible.
