The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, hosted on Monday evening the Albanian Diplomatic Corps serving in various countries around the world.

The Head of State, in a special speech, presented his vision for a stronger voice for Albania in the international arena, in defense of national interests in a time filled with crisis and uncertainty.

"As a country small in size, but big in will, we have shown that we can contribute to stability, cooperation and common solutions. This is the role that strengthens our position and image in the world, as well as enhances Albania's identity as a reliable partner and factor of stability in the region and beyond."

The President of the Republic emphasized the importance of the partnership with the United States of America and the presence in NATO, stating that "The alliance with the US and NATO is our guarantee for national security, our shield in an insecure world and, at the same time, proof of our Euro-Atlantic values ​​and orientation."

Albania, – said President Begaj, – is an inseparable part of Europe and our major goal remains full membership in the European Union: “This is the strategic objective that encompasses the aspirations of our citizens for development, well-being and the rule of law. This is the horizon that guides our reforms and guarantees the country's irreversible journey towards the European family.”

The Head of State also spoke about encouraging the expansion of the European Union in our region, emphasizing that Albanians remain a factor of stability and cohesion, proven by their commitment and leadership of major regional initiatives.

Referring to the successful organization of the 6th Summit of the European Political Community in May of this year, the organization of the NATO Summit in 2027, as well as the World Congress of Law this year, President Begaj emphasized during his speech that these are proof that our country can be an important bridge of dialogue and cooperation in Europe and beyond.

President Begaj also reconfirmed Albania's position on peace through talks and dialogue, both in the case of the war in Ukraine and in ending the conflict in the Middle East.

"We are living in a period of change and transition in international relations, which pushes us to be more proactive in foreign policy and diplomacy, more critical and in-depth in our analysis, as well as more far-sighted in our prognosis of the future."

During the reception ceremony, the President of the Republic praised the role of Albanian diplomats, describing them as architects of new relations, builders of bridges of cooperation, spokespeople and promoters of Albanian values ​​in an increasingly complex world.

Guaranteeing the state's support for them, President Begaj advised the ambassadors to take special care of the Albanian Diaspora around the world.

"Keep the doors of the embassy open to compatriots! They are not just statistics, but are members of the great Albanian family," declared the President of the Republic, who simultaneously emphasized the importance of promoting Albania through proactive diplomacy in support of the Albanian language, culture and identity.

Regarding Kosovo, the President asked Albania's ambassadors to continue working for new recognitions and its integration into the European Union and NATO.
