Invited to the show "Free Zone", the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Agron Gjekmarkaj has stated that he will not vote the next day for the candidate for President of the Republic proposed by the SP, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Bajram Begaj.

Regarding this decision of his, Gjekmarkaj has argued that this was a one-sided and unexpected choice. However, Gjekmarkaj wished success to the presidential candidate, Begaj.

Agron Gjekmarkaj : I think that the opposition and the Albanian society beyond the opposition has much better and much more prestigious candidacies. I do not prejudge Begaj's CV, I do not know how he achieved it. It is his right to have achieved it with dignity. Begaj deserves a chance as president…

Agron Gjekmarkaj : No, I have not yet shared with myself what I will do. When I saw him in the prime minister's office, my dilemmas increased. Maybe if he had been a president as discussed before, even Fatos Nano who is the historical leader of the Socialists, I would have had a civil war to go to the polls, or Majlinda Bregu who has been a minister for 6 years. To the DP, much more to vote, while this election so one-sided and so sudden, without prejudice and wishing success in his work, I will not vote for the candidacy of Mr. Begaj.
