Today, Prime Minister Edi Rama formalized the candidacy of General Bajram Begaj for the post of the new President of the Republic that will be voted on tomorrow in the Assembly.

During the statement for the journalists, he was also asked about the current president Ilir Meta, where he said that the latter is not a commander but a Kachak, just like Haxhi Qamili. The head of government further added that experience has shown that presidents coming from the military do not disappoint us.

If elected head of state tomorrow, Bajram Begaj will become the third president to come from the army after Alfred Moisiu and Bujar Nishani.
