The leadership of the Socialist Party met today at 17:00 to discuss the election of a new president.

The leader of the Socialist Party and at the same time the prime minister of the country, Edi Rama arrived at the party headquarters a few minutes before 17:00. Rama is photographed with a file in hand, most likely the file with the name of the president.

The name to be approved by the Presidency will be sent to the Assembly for a vote.

Tomorrow at 18:00 Parliament holds the fourth round for the election of the president.

This will be the 7th president in 32 years of political pluralism for Albania. The mandate of the current President, Ilir Meta ends on July 24.
