Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US Vice President J.D. Vance are holding their first official meeting since their fiery clash in the Oval Office.
The Ukrainian president and the U.S. vice president are both in the Vatican for Pope Leo XIV's inaugural mass, where they met briefly to shake hands before the service.
The pope also met with Zelensky earlier and told crowds that a "martyred Ukraine" would be given peace.
A spokesman for Vance said he would meet with Zelensky at the US ambassador's residence.
Marco Rubio, the US secretary of state, and Andriy Yermak, Zelensky's top aide, will also participate in the discussions, which come ahead of a phone call between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on Monday.
