A 37-year-old man in Turin has become the hero of the day, as he shot at the right place and time, to receive in his arms, a 5-year-old girl who fell from the 5th floor of a building.

Mattia Aguzzi was crossing the street with his girlfriend when he saw the little girl hanging from the balcony of the building in Via Nizza 389 on the outskirts of Turin that broke away.

He ran to catch her and softened the speed and force with which the girl hit the ground.

The 5-year-old, whose parents were at home at the time of the incident, was transported while conscious to the Regina Margherita Children's Hospital.

The "hero" who saved her suffered a trauma to the chest and arm after the blow he received while waiting for the girl.

"We heard a guy from the opposite building scream. We looked up and saw this little girl hanging on the ledge," Mattia's girlfriend confessed.

"My boyfriend called to her telling her to stay still and I ran and rang all the bells in the building, but when I came back she had already fallen. Mattia caught him in flight, I don't know how he did it. "Right after we saw that the little girl started to cry with a sigh of relief that we realized she was alive," she added.
