The prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has stated that four officials of the Kosovo Police have been released, while the deputy director of the Kosovo Police, Dejan Jankovic, has not yet been released.

"Already four police officers have been released, but the deputy director of the Police continues to be held in prison", said Kurti during the meeting of the Government of Kosovo

Kurti stated that with the detention of citizens of Kosovo at the border points of Serbia and the arbitrary detention of citizens of Kosovo, Serbia violated a number of agreements.

"Including the agreement of July 2011 on the free movement of citizens, the agreement of November 2022 on the free movement of identity cards between the countries of the Western Balkans and the basic agreement of February 2023 in Brussels on the normalization of relations and neighborhood good", said  Kurti.

He added that this action reminded Milosevic's actions in 1998-1999.

"The baseless arbitrary arrest and detention and mistreatment of Kosovo citizens by Serbia, only because they use Serbia as a transit country, brought back bitter memories of Milosevic's Serbia, thus reminding us that it remains the same because it is led by a former subordinate of his".
