A post on Truth Social by US President Donald Trump against Dmitry Medvedev has caused the latter to bite his tongue over some nuclear statements about Iran.
Medvedev, the deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, had said that Iran has allies who could provide it with nuclear weapons.
Trump caught on to this detail and made a lengthy post on his social media, effectively dismantling Medvedev's statement and making him "talk to himself."
“The enrichment of nuclear material – and, we can now say openly, the future production of nuclear weapons – will continue,” Medvedev, the deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, said in a Sunday X post. “A number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their nuclear warheads.”
Trump wrote on Truth Social to ask if Medvedev was “using the ‘N’ word (Nuclear!) by accident.”
"Did he really say that or is it just a figment of my imagination? If he did, and if it is confirmed, please let me know, IMMEDIATELY. The 'N' word should not be treated so casually. I think that is why Putin is 'the boss,'" Trump said.
Trump noted America's ability to launch nuclear missiles from the same submarines that fired non-nuclear missiles at Iran's nuclear facilities in Natanz and Isfahan.
"They are the most powerful and deadly weapons ever built, and they just fired 30 Tomahawks - all 30 hit their mark perfectly," Trump wrote of the submarines.
Meanwhile, a few hours later, Medvedev appeared to "regret" the statements and "bite his tongue," stating that he was not actually referring to Russia, but to Iran's other allies, who could provide nuclear weapons to the Islamic Republic.
