A member of the Ademaj family has given details about the tragedy that happened on Saturday, where two of their family members, a mother and her son, Mirsada Ademaj and Dion Ademaj, died in the floods.

He said that due to the floods, a part of the hill slipped and trapped the 5-year-old boy, while he said that their bride was found in a basement in a house.

"It rained, part of the hill slid, it washed away the boy, this brother was filled with water, until the wall held him, when it held, the water entered, we barely saved two other children, we struggled in order to save the bride that we have not seen the little one anywhere, then we found her in a house of the Kojshis, we found the bride in the third house in the basement", said the family. 

How did the event happen?

Bad weather in Kosovo has caused massive flooding in some areas, where the situation worsened during the night, as a result of heavy rain. One of the most affected areas is Peja, where two victims, mother and son, Mirsada Ademaj and Dion Ademaj, have been recorded. The serious incident took place in the neighborhood of 'Asllan Çeshme'. The 30-year-old mother, along with her only 5-year-old child, were staying at home at the critical moments. The case was reported by the neighbors and the woman who was reported missing was later found near a neighbor's house. Doctors have confirmed the death of mother and son.
