Shocking in Italy/ Mother jumps from balcony with three children, three dead and one in serious condition

A shocking and alarming event comes from Italy, in the Catanzaro area, where a mother has jumped from the third floor of her apartment along with her three children.

The mother and two young children, a four-year-old and a four-month-old, died on the spot, while a five-and-a-half-year-old girl is in critical condition, in intensive care at the Catanzaro Hospital.

The police are working in a coordinated manner to clarify the exact circumstances and causes of this serious act.

Investigators from the Catanzaro Flying Squad, together with forensic police personnel, have carried out an inspection of the apartment where the woman lived. The incident is being kept under wraps and it is not known whether other people were in the house at the time of the tragedy.
