French investigators have discovered the remains of a child who had been missing since 2023. A case that shocked the whole opinion in France.

Emile Soleil was two and a half years old when he disappeared on July 8, 2023, while staying with his grandparents in a village in the French Alps.

He was last seen by neighbors walking alone on a street called "Le Vernet".

The skeletal remains were found at a distance of 90 meters from the grandparents' house. Foreign media reports that the remains were found "on a path between a church". It was also said that this area was very well controlled by the police.

"It is unlikely that an animal would bring human remains to the village. This leads us to the scenario that a person brought Emil's remains and most likely recently", added the mayor.

"This shocking news is what we feared. Now we know, on the day of the Catholic Resurrection, that Emile is watching over us in God's light and love, but the pain and sadness remain. Now is the time to grieve, pray and reflect," said the parents of the little boy through their lawyer, who called for the family's private moments to be respected. The last time Emil was seen was with his 58-year-old grandfather.

Since then, his fate has been unknown and investigators have not ruled out any possibility, including kidnapping and murder. An eyewitness said he saw his grandfather, an osteopath physiotherapist, chopping wood outside his house around the time the child allegedly disappeared.
