Tragic in Belgium/ 12-year-old loses his life during police pursuit, hit by blue

Belgian media report that the child was riding an electric scooter when the incident occurred.

According to the Brussels Prosecutor's Office, the accident occurred at around 5:50 p.m. in the municipality of Ganshoren.

Authorities confirmed that a police vehicle was involved in the incident, while the exact circumstances of the event have not yet been fully clarified.

"A police vehicle was involved in the accident. The victim is a child born in 2013, who has passed away," the Prosecution's statement said.

Immediately after the incident, emergency crews arrived at the scene of the accident and provided first aid to the child, who was then rushed to the hospital. Despite the doctors' efforts, the 12-year-old could not survive the serious injuries.

The incident has caused great shock in public opinion, while Belgian authorities have launched investigations to determine whether the police pursuit and the officers' actions were justified.
